Distant views and beautiful waterways.List Item 1
Starts at Westford, near Rockwell Green, and finishes at the River Tone before returning. Undulating farmland and extensive views of Tonedale and Quantocks. You arrive at a section of River Tone reputed to contain otters. A short diversion reveals historic Westford stream with mill leat.

Nature walk and old structures.List Item 3
Starting at Wellington's west boundary, the walk includes a short section where numerous wildlife may be seen in summer. Leading on through built-up areas, you pass alongside historic water towers. These are privately owned but currently sitting in a weed jungle. There are two kids play areas on this walk, and attractive views of the Blackdowns with monument.

Attractive paths and watery constructions.List Item 4
Starting down the evocative shady green Dark Lane, you follow a circuitous route down to the Basins - the extensive waterworks for Fox's Tonedale wool mills. A popular fishing and swan feeding spot.
The walk passes through award-winning Edwardian park; you may see Nuthatches in the pollarded plane trees.

Beautiful stream, nature reserve, and industrial history.
Walk beautiful Westford stream to interesting industrial remnants of the wool industry. A small community woodland and rare wetland nature reserve lead by road to Prowse's Mill, more evidence of the wool trade. A permissive path leads to open country leading finishing at Holywell Lake (where this is no lake!).
- Whipcott: A38 from Wellington toward Tiverton; turn right on dual carriageway just past Whiteball, signed Greenham, Cothay. Pass industrial units, turn left at Westleigh quarry sign, follow round the long left bend, past a farm to turn right onto the signed canal car park. Walk west past Burlescombe village, or east past lime kilns,crossing a minor road to end at a derelict lock where the canal dries up.
- Westleigh: Further on A38, turn right at hill brow signed Burlescombe / Westleigh. Follow all the way down and park sharp left just over the canal bridge. Either way has attractive scenery, in winter look for Stonechat and Goldcrest on the east stretch.
- Sampford Peverell:
Further on A38, cross M5 roundabout, take left slip and park on the right in Peverell village free car park. Walk west for church and views, or east for Ayshford chapel which can be visited by application.
- Halberton:
Continue through Sampford Peverell for a few miles through Halberton village, turn right to signed canal car park at the white bungalow. Either way will give you superb views over Devon countryside. Kingfishers frequently seen on the west stretch.
- Swan Neck:
Continue through Halberton, then a very sharp right aftercrossing the canal bridge to signed car park. West is a rather shaded and boring tree walk, south is a good view of state of the art energy recovery plant using animal waste!
- Tiverton:
continue on to the town, or take the A36, the car park is well signed with access to visitor centre, floating cafe, boat hire, canal boat trips in season and attractive walk through residential area. Be aware of car park charge - and it can be full in high season.
